  • New Police Safeguards Developed for Children of Arrested Parents

    Posted on   10/13/2014  10:04 AM

A new protocol is out on safeguarding children of arrested parents. This report provides policy and procedures for law enforcement to follow in reducing the trauma children experience when their parents are arrested.

As we know so well, the arrest of a parent can have a significant impact on a child for years to come, including feeling shock, immense fear, anxiety, or anger towards the arresting officers or law enforcement in general.

This report is an initiative of the Deputy Attorney General and White House Domestic Policy Council and sponsored by the Bureau of Justice Assistance.
